Sydney Office Cleaning Secrets Revealed. Is Your Office As Bad as Others?

From Sydney accounting practices to gyms to architects offices to real estate agencies. Here I explain what businesses in Sydney get dirty the most, where it’s worst, and my top tips to avoid that.

Yes, you guessed it. Years of Sydney office building cleaning gives you an insight into just how dirty business gets. I mean literally.

Do you think your office gets messy? Sick of the communal kitchen being a pigsty?  Well, I’ll bet there are worse out there. I’ve seen it all. Do you want to hear some foul stories? Sorry, a cleaner’s humour.

The interesting thing is that every kind of office is as bad as another. It is more about the culture and size of the place.

Are people going in and out a lot? These are messier offices. Are staff chained to their desk more? Like IT offices. Strangely these seem cleaner. I guess it’s related to pride in where you work because you have to spend more time there.

The bigger the office the messier the office. Again, I guess it’s more that sense of ownership that makes an office cleaner.

Regardless, there are common areas which are always worse than others.

Hot Tip

Make sure you write these down in the cleaners contract because you won’t want your cleaner to miss these.

OR just call us, of course!

Well here’s my list of top 5 places in an office to make sure are in the cleaner’s contracts because they are a bacteria’s dream and typically the worst kept parts of the office.

Washrooms and Bathrooms: Did you know? It’s probably not a surprise to learn that the men’s bathroom often has much more soap than the women’s. And the women’s bathrooms always have more water splashes on the mirrors and bins fuller with paper towels. I’ll just leave you with that information and let that sit.

Light Switches and Elevator Buttons: It’s probably not a surprise these get grotty most and given they are breeding grounds for bacteria, it might be helpful to encourage carrying around bacteria wipes if your cleaner has to take a week off.

Office Kitchens: No it’s not just you. Most people turn into aliens when it comes to preparing their lunch. They’re in and out without you even noticing and all that’s left is weird crop circles of coffee cup marks and X Files level slime all over the place.

Workstations: A good cleaner needs to tip upside down the keyboards because that’s where all the nasties fall in. Remember to ask your cleaner to do that. And dust. Always dust.

Phones: Wiping down phones matter. Talking and holding something that close to your face for hours a day. You can imagine the yuck that builds up.

Keep in mind, any good office cleaning company in Sydney should go out of their way to include these things in the contract. That’s why GBS Cleaning is good (among other things), I would like to think.
